CITY OF BIRMINGHAM SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA (CBSO)

Our learning and participation work sits at the heart of our programme and reaches tens of thousands of people in diverse communities across the West Midlands and further nationally. We're passionate about creating opportunities for people of all ages and every level of musical experience, and sharing the power of music to enrich life for everyone.

Our programme is diverse and provides opportunities for those new to classical music through to supporting music learning and performance at the highest levels.

We work in formal education settings from early years to post-graduates and we have developed specialisms in working with young people with disabilities, creating community choirs and delivering concerts for pre-school, families and schools. We also have a highly acclaimed Youth Orchestra, Children’s Chorus, Youth Chorus and Chorus.

As well as a core programme of participation opportunities and performance programme, we deliver a bespoke offer for partners and those who engage us, drawing on our experienced orchestral members, associate players and education specialists to deliver high quality learning and participation activities.
