BATH FESTIVALS TRUST

Bath Festivals offer children, young people and adults the best opportunities to engage with, and explore music as part of everyday life, enhancing people’s lives, understanding and participation within the arts and making a positive contribution to the cultural life of our communities. Reflecting the high quality and diversity of our festivals, our programme of learning and participation activity is not only delivered through the three festivals, but also throughout the year via major projects, creative workshops, masterclasses, gigs and competitions.

Make Music Happen has offered young people in Bath and North East Somerset the chance to make, perform and promote music. Through a series of seminars, workshops and events young people have had the opportunity to explore creative music making and gain experience of performing and promoting music in a number of different situations with a wide variety of talented and experienced professional musicians. Download our summary of the first Make Music Happen project.

Bath Festivals next Make Music Happen project, Building Bridges got underway in April with young people at Peasedown St John Youth Hub. Young people worked with music leader, Neil Johnson, to explore song writing and non-western music. They collaborated on a piece of music to perform at Party in the City and performed this in front of an audience of approximately 60 people at St Michael’s Without Church in Bath.
