Bringing a unique take to the classical piano trio,  contemporary London based ensemble, Quest Trio comprised of Filipe Sousa, (piano), Tara Franks (cello), and Preetha Narayanan (violin) collaboratively create original work with a distinctive sound that blends improvisation with devised composition. All graduates of the Guildhall School of Music Leadership Programme and experienced workshop leaders individually, Quest transfer their own collaborative composition methods to community settings. They work with schools, colleges, youth and community groups across the UK leading creative music projects with musicians of all ages, abilities, and musical backgrounds. Their work is always group based and collaborative, including both song-writing/percussion and developing new skills in improvising, composing, and performing music as a band/ensemble.

In the last two years, Quest Ensemble’s community work has included; song-writing workshops in Primary Schools across London, creative ensemble work with aspiring instrumentalists from the SoundsCreative Ensemble and Music First, a site specific composition project with the Aldeburgh Young Musicians as part of the cultural Olympiad. Quest has also led a year-long Creative Sinfonietta programme at the Guildhall School of Music aimed at recent graduates and improvisations workshops in the PoMI conference at Oxford University and more recently the I=U Festival in East London.  In addition to music education projects, Quest Ensemble work collaboratively on site specific installations and sound commissions for dance and the visual arts. They have also recently completed recording their first album, to be released in March.
