Trained as a composer, Rachel has been working within orchestral music education for 15 years. During this time she has worked with most of the UK's major orchestras and opera companies as well as creating projects and presenting concerts around the world.

Rachel leads creative composition projects based on classical repertoire with people of all ages and abilities and trains musicians, teachers and student animateurs to lead such work. Projects can be tailored to fit specific groups and situations. She also writes resources for teachers to back up in-school work. Rachel leads opera workshops with a drama animateur leading to the creation of new songs/music theatre and has written over 15 community operas.

Rachel presents large-scale orchestral concerts for children, pre-concert events, repertoire study days, player interviews. Children's concerts often include an especially composed song and resource pack.
